Hi!

Sorry for writing in English but unfortunately I don't speak German but hope most of you will understand. I've just used google translate to get some "rough" translation of the above posts. I'm also not a philatelist but found this discussion by searching for "Annika Kabila" keyword on google since I've also received the same latter as Thomas did.

Normally I would throw such letter in the trash immediately since many of us have received similar things as spam e-emails over the years by just thinking why somebody would spend money for postage to send all this letters around since almost everybody knows this is a fraud. What before throwing the letter away attracted my attention was the address on the envelope. It was addressed apart to my name and surname to a post box for which I canceled the subscription in the 2002 and was not in use since than. Anyway as I live in a smaller village where the postman knows almost everybody and specialy remembers me for receiving hamradio QSL cards sometimes from exotic countries the letter found its way to me.

Since I used in the past the above mentioned post box only for receiving amateur radio QSL cards by post and not for any other propose I started to think where they got it after so many years and googled around to find out if also others received something similar. The only hit to the same issue I found so far on google was this forum and what was the most interesting that the post was published by DL8AAM - Thomas who is a hamradio op. like me.

After I tried to remember if I published at the time in one of the hamradio callbooks my post box address and found I did on http://www.qrz.com under my first callsign S56REW I got when made the VHF class license in 1996 and never later when got new callsigns by upgrading the license to higher classes in 1997 and 1999. What is interesting that at the time I published my address with p.o. box on qrz.com I made a typing mistake when writing my village name and the same error was on the envelope I received from SAR. So taking in consideration this probably now is known the source where they got my and Thomas's address and probably of many others.

Anyhow what they obtained with the address mass that I didn't trow the letter into the trash but will keep as souvenir. At the end there are three nice post stamps with a butterfly on the envelope :)))

Best regards,
Andrej / S57RW
