Die Einheit von Gärtner wurde vermutlich nicht verkauft, da diese bei der 58. Auktion von Gärtner für 80.000 Euro als Los 2742 angeboten und auch nicht verkauft wurde. Sie wurde bei Gärtner als grösste Einheit der Platte 4 beschrieben.

1840 1d. black, Plate 4, BLOCK OF NINE (GI/IK), mounted mint with almost full original gum, large margins, exceptional colour, lightly toned at the left, HI has a small natural paper impurity, still fine. AN IMPRESSIVE MINT BLOCK. ONE OF THE LARGEST MULTIPLES OF THIS PLATE. Two B.P.A. certificates (1956 and 1996) (Ex-Lord Steinberg collection)."

1840 1d. schwarz, Platte 4, NEUNER BLOCK (GI/IK), postfrisch mit fast vollem Originalgummi, große Ränder, außergewöhnliche Farbe, leicht getönt auf der linken Seite, HI hat eine kleine natürliche Papierunreinheit, noch gut. 1840 1d. black, Plate 8, BLOCK OF NINE (NJ/PL), mounted mint with almost full original gum, good to large margins three sides, parts of three adjoining stamps, cut-into at the left, some gum toning, NL stained, OJ, OL, PJ and PL little surface defects, variously creased. THOUGHT TO BE THE LARGEST MULTIPLE OF THIS PLATE IN PRIVATE OWNERSHIP. B.P.A. certificate 1996 (Ex-Lord Steinberg collection).

1840 1d. schwarz, Platte 8, NEUNER BLOCK (NJ/PL), postfrisch montiert mit fast vollem Originalgummi, dreiseitig gut bis breitrandig, Teile von drei nebeneinanderliegenden Marken, links angeschnitten, etwas gummigetönt, NL fleckig, OJ, OL, PJ und PL kleine Oberflächendefekte, unterschiedlich knittrig. ES HANDELT SICH VERMUTLICH UM DAS GRÖSSTE MULTIPLE DIESER PLATTE IN PRIVATBESITZ. B.P.A.-Zertifikat 1996 (Ex-Lord Steinberg Sammlung).



Ich fand die Ausrufpreise schon für überhöht, da es doch einige ungebrauchte Einheiten dieser Marke gibt; somit wunderte ich mich nicht, das sie nicht verkauft wurde.

Vielleicht erbarmt sich ein Leser des Forums und kauft sie jetzt, da sie noch bis zum 7.4.24 im Nachverkauf erhältlich sind.
