Civil Mixed Watchman Service (i.e. guard units formed in the postwar British zone of occupied Germany under the command of the British Army of the Rhine [BAOR] comprised of non-German displaced persons, often former military personnel, such as Poles, Latvians, Lithuanians, Ukrainians, Yugoslavs, Estonians and others who did not wish to be repatriated to their Soviet-occupied homelands; forerunner of the more extensive Mixed Service Organisation [MSO]; also seen variously referred to as “Civilian Mixed Watchman Service", “Civil Mixed Watchman’s Service” or “Civil Mixed Watchmen’s Service”).
