My Dear mother
it is saturday eaveing and i sit my self down to let you know that i am enjoying good health and hope this will find you the same
Dear mother you said you was agoing to try to get me out of the army but i am sorry to tell you that you could not unless you bought me out and it would one houndred and $50 to boy my discharge and $60 to pay my fair home to

N.Y. wich would bee $210 dollars and i think that would bee to much for you to pay.
but mother if you do pay it you would have to send it to me and i would pay $150 to my commanding officer for my discharge and then pay my fare home mother if you will be so kind as to send it when i get home i will work out

untill i pay you back again. mother i am liveing in Ireland now about 16 miles from Cork it is an nice place but this is know place like home
i will send you my number and address so you will know whare to direct.
