Still, one of the attractions of postmark collecting is that one can get lucky and find an unspotted rarity somewhere, whereas this is not true for stamp collecting.

I do not know much on American macjine cancels, but I am well aware of the fact that the level of competition to get the better pieces is really high in the US.
