Thank you for posting your letter to Romania.

I have a dirty cover mailed Geneva 26 January 1872 and I could not decipher the destination. I could only decipher Wein, but the 35 centimes rate was wrong for Austria so I knew it had to go somewhere else.

Now I know where it went because the addressee is the same as your letter, which went to Jassy via Wein and Chernowitz. Using Google Map I was able to find Chernowitz [Chernivtsi in present day Ukraine] then it was easy. My letter was addressed to Tirgu Frumos, Moldavia via Wein and Czernowitz. So the lady travelled in that area over many years.
