[#18]Hello Andy,
I have read you post and find the identifications very interesting considering you have said they were identified by an expert friend. I am especially interested in the 15 rappen rose stamps from the early printings. I have followed the identification characteristics developed by Herbert Brach, whose book was published in the USA in 2000, which I understand triggered changes in Switzerland. I do not know the differences in his conclusions and the new system designed by Mr Hermann.
I do see differences between your examples and my collection. I am using Zumstein numbers.
Top row - 24Aa (mattrosa), 24Ab (hellrosa),
second row - 24Ac (rosa), and 24Ad (lebhaftrosa)
Bottom row - 24B (rosa), 24Bb (lilarosa), 24B (mattlilarosa)
It has been my understanding that the Bern printing had a bluish tint due to blue pigment added that dispersed very evenly. I am interested in your comments.
Roger
