Hello Kevin,

The letter was posted in Winterthur and placed on the St.Gallen-Olten railway. It would have gone to Olten, then to Luzern across the lake and over the St Gotthard pass by mail coach to Como, and from there to Milan, hence to Napoli. Olten was a major train terminal with trains coming from all four directions. I don't think it went through Zürich since Luzern was the primary route across the St Gotthard.
