an einigen Stellen lese ich etwas anderes:

of David; from what you wrote I was almost
induced to go home, but I should never see him
again; but I was glad to find your fears were
unfounded and that he is now in good health
going to school as usual – My health has been
restored so as to enable me to attend to my
public duties. I had a long and very serious indispo-
sition, being confined to my room for about three
months; I am perfectly tired of this place and
wish my time was expired, I would then bid
farewel to Political life, which to me is not
at all agreeable – I know not when we will
adjourn, but expect it about the 4th of July –
I enclose you five Dollar to buy a frock for the
Babe - I have had letters from Andrew, they
appear satisfied with their new home - My respects
to M. Ragan - your dear
